The North Jefferson Library Foundation is an all volunteer organization. The purpose of the foundation is to raise funds to support the library beyond what government funding provides. The Foundation is comprised of members from surrounding communities.
Anne Jolly, President– Ms. Jolly is an author and Education Consultant for Learning Forward (formerly the National Staff Development Council). She is a founding member of the foundation and guided the Foundation in conducting community surveys and developing a mission and action plan. Ms. Jolly has a minor in music and experience in performing arts.
Linda Taylor, Vice President– Ms. Taylor is a founding board member and assists in grant administration, organizing fundraisers, and securing volunteers. She has retired as Executive Secretary of A.P. Green Refractories and Assistant Director of Independent Living Center of Birmingham.
Dr. Faye Andrews, Treasurer– Dr. Andrews is a founding board member, Optometrist, and owner of Warrior Eye Care. She has provided comprehensive vision and medical eye care to area residents for over 20 years. She oversees the Foundation’s finances and provides active leadership in promoting the project in the community.
Brooks H. Baker III, Director of Planning, Design and Construction– Mr. Baker is Associate Vice President for Facilities at UAB. He has been active in the construction industry for over 30 years and is responsible for projects ranging from a few thousand dollars to over $100,000,000. He is a professional engineer registered in the state of Alabama and a member of the Birmingham Construction industry authority. Mr. Baker manages many of the Foundation projects.
Janie McCallie, Member at large– Mrs. McCallie is the retired Financial Program Manager/Accountant for Middle Eastern countries with the DOD Security Assistance Program, and an accountant and budge officer for the Air Intelligence Agency. She assists the Foundation with finances, publicity, book sales, and communications.
Carolyn Plott, Member at large– Ms. Plott is Office Manager at Warrior Eye Care. An energetic volunteer, she assists with organizing and securing materials needed for library events, takes charge of community collection box donations, and assists with publicity.
Dr. Susan Wells, DMD, P.C., Member at large– Dr.Wells has practiced dentistry in Warrior for 33 years. she regularly publicizes information about Foundation projects and fundraisers in her quarterly newsletter that reaches 8,000 people. She also makes some of her staff available to help with project work and provides help with printing.
Lynn Barber, Ad hoc Member– Ms. Lynn Barber is the Assistant Librarian/Circulation Specialist for the Warrior Public Library. Ms. Barber has experience as an administrative assistant and service coordinator. She provides assistance and valuable input concerning fundraising for the library.
Karen Moody, Ad hoc Member– Mrs. Karen Moody is the Director/Head Librarian for the Warrior Public Library. Mrs. Moody has library technical and public service experience. She provides valuable input and assists in various capacities.
